"Start a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not turn from it." Proverbs 22:6

Financial management and investment skills are an integral part of life and if these are molded at an early age, can go a long way in strengthening a child’s financial future. Orel-Vine introduces children to various income generating activities some of which include baking, bead work, embroidery and many more. The products of these activities are either sold to members of the community and the profits shared among the students or enjoyed within the school and with parents. In addition, our students are given a grounding in budgeting, saving, borrowing and interest (investment). They are also advised on the best uses to which they can put the profits they make with talks from both internal and external parties such as banks.

Our financial literacy classes are delivered with children’s perceptions of money in mind. We therefore endeavor to make them fun and memorable but also as practically applicable to them as possible. Students are able to pick up vocational skills but are also monitored for progress in regards to the application of the knowledge they’ve learnt. From an early age therefore, Orel-Vine children qualify as skilled entrepreneurs.

It all comes down to this: if your subconscious “financial blueprint” is not “set’ for success, nothing you learn, nothing you know, and nothing you do will make much of a difference. If you want to create wealth, it is imperative that you believe that you are at the steering wheel of life, especially your financial life.
