ART & CRAFT

Orel-Vine boasts of a terrific art and craft club. The aim of the club is to nurture the artistic ability embedded within every child. The club gives students the opportunity to explore, think and experiment, try out new ideas so as to enhance their creative sense. It also instils visual-spatial skills, impacts a sense of innovation, enables cultural awareness and affects academic performance positively. With the support and encouragement of talented art tutors, our young artists not only build up an impressive range of new skills, they also crucially build their self-esteem and confidence in their own creative abilities.

The club does indeed cover many aspects of art including African and Western batiks, clay work, still life, painting, graphic work, marbling, printing and mosaics. In addition to class work students carry out projects which allow them to express their art skill by creatively interpreting an academic theme. The project work is presented every term at the school. The best artwork can be seen on display around the school.
