Our Home/Family

. Our Home/ family Learners define a home as teacher gives further elaboration of a home.

Learners are asked answer the questions below:

-where do you live?

-name the street/road that leads you to your home.

-give things that you see around your home.

 Learners will mention the different rooms found in their houses and also asked to mention the activities done from there.

Learners also brainstorm the different things found in the rooms mentioned.

members of their families and what they do (responsibilities

Learner will tell what is the right choice to make  and the consequences of making wrong choices.

Our school

Learners will talk about their school;

– What is the name of your school?

-where is your school found?

-what street /road is your school found along?

-give directions from your home to school.

Learners are also asked to give the things they see on their way to and from school.

Learners are asked to identify things they see in their school. Learners will identify school attributes:

School badge, uniform, motto, anthem, logo, flag.

 

 

Learners the importance of the different attributes.

 Learners will identify and name the different people  in our school:

Teachers, chefs, pupils, cleaners, heads of school, security guards.

Learners and teachers discuss the role of the different people in the school.

Safety

Learners will identify dangerous objects at home and at school. Learners then discuss with the teacher how to keep safe from such dangerous objects.

Learners talk about dangerous people they know.

They give their parents rules given to them on how to keep themselves safe from such people.

Learners will identify different road signs and tell  what they mean.

Parking, no parking, zebra crossing, humps ahead, children crossing, danger

Learners will identify the traffic light road sign and where they see them. Learners are asked to tell what they tell the drivers to do.

Green-go

Yellow/orange-get ready

Red – stop

Teachers gives directions on how to cross the road;

Look left, right then left if no cars cross. 

They are asked to give the causes of road accidents.

 

Learners will give ways of avoiding road accidents
