Unit Historical fiction

Learners will read and explore a range of fiction genres, poems and playscripts, including identifying the contribution of any visual elements or multimedia. *

 

Unit 2A: Fantasy stories

Learners will Predict what happens next in a story based on previous events in the story and use simple figurative language, including alliteration and similes.

 

 

Unit 3A: Stories with issues and dilemmas

Learners will Identify, discuss and compare different fiction genres and their typical characteristics,

read aloud with expression, adapting the pace and volume appropriate to the content.

Learners will understand the difference between fiction and non-fiction texts and locate books by classification.
