YEAR 7 TERM 1 CHEMISTRY COURSE OUTLINE

In this term, we shall study only one topic; SOLIDS, LIQUIDS AND GASES  

In this unit, we build on our previous knowledge of materials and their properties to develop knowledge of the particle theory of matter and how this can explain the properties of solids, liquids and gases, including changes of state.

We shall put much emphasis in the following areas;

• What are substances made of?
• Comparison of particle arrangement between solids, gases and liquids
• Existence of water in the three forms of matter
• Freezing point of substances
• Melting point of substances
• Properties of matter
• Changes of state of matter
